PAVILION REGULATIONS:
Please take time to read these regulations, as they will provide you with essential information.
PAVILIONS OPEN FROM 2pm – 4pm WEDNESDAY 1st and 8am – 11.30 am THURSDAY 2nd
OCTOBER.
ALL EXHIBITS FOR PAVILION CLASSES TO BE IN THE HANDS OF THE STEWARDS BY 11.30 AM
THURSDAY 2nd OCTOBER 2008 (LATE ARRIVALS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED). THIS CLOSING TIME
WILL BE RIGIDLY ENFORCED. EXHIBITORS MUST ENSURE THAT EXHIBITS ARE COLLECTED AFTER
5 PM SATURDAY AND NO LATER THAN 6 PM OR THEY CAN BE COLLECTED FROM THE SHOW
OFFICE THE WEEK FOLLOWING THE SHOW.
*Exhibitors must leave their exhibit card with the article entered & exhibit must be presented, ready for
judging.
*Pavilions close at 4.30 pm Saturday, to allow stewards preparation time for collection of entries from 5 pm.
*First prize winning exhibits in previous Swan Hill District A & P Shows cannot be entered again in the same class.
*Work to have been done within the last two years in senior sections and the last 12 months in junior
sections.
*Laundered or soiled work will be disqualified.
*When more than one article makes up an exhibit, each article must bear a card with class and exhibit
number on it, or all articles must be mounted on one card or board.
*Entry forms MUST be presented to claim entries at closing of the Show.
*ALL PRIZE MONEY can be collected from the Chief Stewards in Centenary Pavilion from 3 pm – 6 pm
Saturday.
*Any prize money not collected by the 10th October 2008 shall be forfeited and paid to the general account of the Swan Hill District Agricultural & Pastoral Society.

All non-perishable work entered by a school may be left at the Secretary’s office, in clearly labelled
packages, between 10 am and 5 pm from September 1st – October 1st All exhibits must be the original
uncopied work of the exhibitor.
To assist stewards all work is to be discreetly named on the back in pencil or on a label with the
exhibitor name and/or school.
Please attach show entry tickets to all entries before delivery to Show Office. Drawings, paintings, writing to have show entry tickets attached to the bottom left hand front corner of artwork. Laundered or soiled work will be disqualified. Work must have been completed in the past 12 months and not previously exhibited at the Swan Hill Show. When more than one article makes up an exhibit, each article must bear a card with class and exhibit number on it, or all articles must be mounted on one card or board. Exhibit cards must be firmly attached. Individually entered prize money can be collected from the Chief Stewards in Centenary Pavilion from 3 pm – 6 pm., Saturday. Any prize money not collected by the 10th October 2008 shall be forfeited and paid to the general account of the Swan Hill District Agricultural & Pastoral Society. School prize money must be collected with the exhibits from the Secretaries office in the week following the show.

The LEISURE CENTRE at the showground’s will be open between 8.30am – 10am on Thursday October 2nd
when backdrops should be set up and entries left for judging. Setting for presentation is to take place
between 2.00 pm – 3.00 pm.
Space Allotted: depth 27 inches x height 36 inches x length 72 inches. No sidewalls allowed.
All articles must have been completed in the last two (2) years, and not shown previously in the CWA
section.
Each article will be judged on its own merit and points awarded. 10 points will be allocated for variety and 10 points for presentation.
Backdrops must not hang over the edge of the bench and nothing is to be below the bench.
Fresh flowers may be used to enhance presentation only, not to be judged. No artificial flower leaves etc. may be used.

WINNERS IN PW1 ARE ELIGIBLE TO GO ON TO COMPETE AT THE GROUP FINALS TO BE HELD EARLY 2009 AND THEN STATE FINALS IF SUCCESSFUL.
Spotlight is the sponsor of the State Finals in sections P1, P2, P39, P40, & PW1.
Vouchers to the value of $300 for 1st place, $150 for 2nd place and $50 for 3rd place will be awarded at the State Final.
Regulations:
• An exhibitor may represent only one Society at Group level and one Group at State level.
• An article having won at a Show will compete at a Group Final; the winning article will then compete at the next Royal Melbourne Show.
• The Melbourne Group 14 winner of the current Show will compete as a finalist in the following State Final at the Royal Melbourne Show.
• An article, having won a State Final, is no longer eligible to compete in the competition.
• Each article entered must be the bona fide work of the exhibitor.
• If, for any reason, a winner is unable to compete at Group or State Final level, then the second placegetter is eligible to compete.
• A person will not be permitted to win at more than one Show within the State in any one Show year. Persons not adhering to this rule will be required to forfeit/refund prize money.

Judging is done prior to Show Week, therefore all entry forms and exhibits must reach: - The Secretary’s
office, Young Farmers Hall, McCallum Street, Swan Hill (postal address PO Box 61, Swan Hill, 3585)
no later than 5pm Tuesday September 23rd 2008.
Maximum of two (2) prints may be entered per class, (Maximum size of photographs, including any
backing, borders etc. 15cm x 21cm). Unless otherwise specified.
No framed photos.
Exhibits are to be collected from the Secretary’s office, between 9am and 5pm, the week following the Show.
This is an amateur competition, open to all ages.
All exhibits must be photographed by the exhibitor.
All entries are to be plainly marked with name and address of exhibitor on the BACK of the photograph.
Please do not use texta.
Digital photos accepted in all sections.
Photos entered in previous Swan Hill Shows are not eligible to re-enter.

Regional Group Finals held April 2009, where the winner will receive a trophy. Please note for Regional Judging the print has to be within the minimum size of 20cm x 25cm and the maximum size of 25cm and 30cm. Trimmed and mounted on cardboard with a 3cm border to allow for pinning.
