NOVICE: A horse that whilst competing singularly has never won a simular class at any Agricultural Show or affiliated EFA Show.

ELEMENTARY: A horse that, whilst competing singularly may have won a novice class but has never won an open class in its

particular height group at any Agricultural Show or an affiliated EFA Show

INTERMEDITE: A horse that, whilst competing singularly has neve been placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in a simular class at any Royal Show

in Australia.

Pleasure Ridden-to be ridden in a snaffle.

First season to be ridden in a snaffle.

Hunters-preferred to be in a plain browband.

EFA ruling;-No pony, Galloway, hack to be ridden in any events under the age of 3 years.

Show Hunter Classes

A Show Hunter has more substance than the modern fine hack/pony, but still maintains quality, with bold movements & reliable temperament. A gallop may be required.

Exhibits competing in open hacking classes are ineligible for Show Hunter classes.

*If you have already won this event at a show from 1/1/09 – 12/12/09, you are ineligible to compete.

*Judged on riding ability. Mount, saddlery or costume not taken into account.

*Special attention will be paid to hands and seat, general management and control of mount.

*Must be in an ordinary snaffle, single jointed in the centre, the mouth piece must be smooth and of the one metal, with or without a cavesson noseband. A gear check may take place.

*Please note no straight bar snaffle, drop nosebands, whips and spurs are allowed.

*The winner qualify’s to compete for the challenge trophies at  the 2010 VAS Ltd “Weight lilfter” saddle Horse championship show.
